HISTORY of ENGINEERED MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT, INC. for ASHRAE-MEMPHIS NEWSLETTER

Engineered Mechanical Equipment, Inc., better known as EME, is the oldest Memphis-based manufacturer’s representative firm in our HVAC industry still operating under the original management. Established in1970, EME has always stated in their letterhead: “Representing Quality Manufacturers” – a policy that continues today. EME was incorporated in 1976, and has been located off

Sam Cooper Boulevard since 1983.

Our combined experience of well over 100 years in the HVAC industry puts us in a strong position to apply the products we sell. EME’s strong emphasis on applied engineering of products represented has placed us in a unique position of involvement in a diverse field of specialty equipment. These include large infrared heating systems, air filtration and indoor air quality applications, pumping systems, permanent cooling towers, boiler and grease duct vents, clean rooms, packaged pumping systems, prefabricated and pre-insulated piping systems, flow control products, boilers, water heaters, air handling systems, variable frequency drives, and instruments.

Major projects have included: Methodist Hospital Central Energy Plant; the FedX Forum; Methodist Hospitals North and South cooling towers; Memphis International Airport; FedX Worldwide headquarters; State Technical Institute; University of Memphis; University of Mississippi; Plough, Inc.; Baptist Hospitals East, /South / Huntington / DeSoto; University of Tennessee; University of Arkansas Central Energy Plant, Memphis Zoo; Rhodes College Barrett Library; St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital; Smith and Nephew;  to name a few.
